Partnerships

Six South Somerset organisations the Friends could not run a year without.

We do not work alone. The work of the Friends is held together by a small handful of long-standing partnerships — with the hospital trust, the hospice, the community foundation, the Rotary club, the local college and the town council. If you represent an organisation that would like to work with us, the form below will reach Sarah and the partnerships group.

A small partnership meeting around an oak table in the Yeovil District Hospital boardroom, six people in conversation, a Friends’ folder open on the table reading ‘THE LEAGUE OF FRIENDS OF THE YEOVIL HOSPITALS’.
Standing partnerships

A quiet directory of the organisations we work with each year.

St Margaret’s Hospice Care logo End-of-life partner · Walk of Light

St Margaret’s Hospice Care

Somerset Community Foundation

Our grant-giving partner for capital appeals. The Foundation has co-funded three of the Equipment Appeal’s headline items since 2018, including the current ultrasound.

Rotary Club of Yeovil

Our partner for the Spring Walk around Ham Hill, marshalled by the Rotary club every April. Together we have raised £41,200 for the Friends since 2014.

Working groups

Smaller relationships we are grateful for.

Beyond the six standing partnerships above, the Friends work with a long list of village groups, churches, and small businesses across South Somerset. We do not publish a complete list — many of them prefer it that way — but those who have agreed to be named include:

  • The Norton-sub-Hamdon women’s institute
  • The Tintinhull cream-tea committee
  • The Curry Rivel allotment association
  • The Mudford fishing club
  • The Stoke-Sub-Hamdon parish council
  • St John’s Church, Yeovil
  • The Crewkerne quiz league
  • The Ilchester historical society
  • Sherborne Castle Estate
  • The Westlands Entertainment Venue
  • Wessex Water (community grants)
  • The South Somerset Times
Partnership enquiry

Tell us about your organisation.

Sarah Cole, our paid partnerships lead, picks up enquiries weekly. We do not work with every organisation that asks — we are small, and the trustees take their time — but we will reply within five working days.

Already a partner?

Drop in for a cup of tea at the Friends’ Café any morning.

Most of our trustees are in the café for half an hour each week. Helen will know who is on duty if you ask at the counter.
